Storage, Handling and Cutting

Cutting

To cut CemDeck, utilise a circular saw equipped with a suitable vacuum extractor and a Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) saw blade. This approach prevents excessive wear on alternative blade types and facilitates easy cutting of the boards while minimising dust. For cutting CemDeck boards, you can employ either a fine-tooth hand saw or a power saw, making sure to implement appropriate dust control measures (such as localised extraction where feasible) and adhering to all necessary health and safety regulations, including the use of protective safety glasses, gloves, and respiratory masks as outlined in the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).

Storage

To maintain safety throughout storage, logistics, and installation processes, it is vital to conduct a thorough risk assessment and create a method statement. When handling boards, it is crucial to wear protective gloves at all times. Store the boards in a flat position, ensuring support along their entire length, such as on a suitable pallet. Choose a dry and well-ventilated storage area, avoiding damp or outdoor conditions that may cause mold to accumulate between the boards. To prevent accidents, refrain from overloading the pallets, as a failure could result in the entire stack collapsing. Staying within the pallet's capacity. When retrieving boards from the stack, adopt proper lifting techniques and, whenever feasible, utilise appropriate lifting aids. Always adhere to the guidelines outlined in the risk assessment and method statement, including the use of lifting aids and Personal Protective Equipment.

Handling

When engaging in activities like cutting, sawing, sanding, or grinding during the installation and handling of this product, conduct them in well-ventilated areas, such as outdoor or open spaces. It is important to maintain a clean work area by regularly performing wet sweeping or vacuuming. lifting and handling the boards, support the long edges to prevent excessive flexing. By following these guidelines, you can ensure proper storage and handling of CemDeck boards.
